Rare bird sightings

Cornell University has a free website that can be searched for local records: Bird List eBird. You can set up hourly or daily alerts, free of charge, for rare birds sighted in any county.

There are two paid subscription rare bird alert websites that issue updates on digital devices, including pagers: Rare Bird Alert: Rare Bird Alert and Bird Guides: Rare Bird Alert. Bird Guides issue a magazine too.
